Survey Says Pandemic Increasing Gratefulness

The COVID-19 Pandemic has been showing people some unexpected benefits; for example it is increasing an appreciation of the little things. At least according to a recent survey of 2,000 people from the United States.

Conducted by OnePoll on behalf of Bubbies Ice Cream, the survey found seeing a loved one after being apart for a while, sleeping in a freshly made bed, and feeling the sun on their face are Americans’ top 3 “little joys,” followed by getting something for free and having time alone to round out the top five.

There were 30 items in total on the list and they ranked as follows:

  1. Seeing a loved one after being apart for a while: 40 percent
  2. Sleeping in a freshly made bed: 39 percent

There are certainly a lot of negatives to this deadly Pandemic, and the toll of life outweighs any of the positives, but a greater appreciation for the lives we get to lead should not be discounted. Take some time to recognize what you appreciate in your own life while you have it.
