Peanut Butter Bread

Baking is a real good way to spend some time and enjoy delicious food at home during Social-Distancing and that has many a kitchen smelling of delicious goods! Including Richard’s as his family has been making tasty treats from online recipes for a few weeks; one of the recent was Peanut Butter Bread.

It’s become a popular treat, and it comes from the 1932 edition of The Five Roses flour cookbook – a guide to good cooking, via a YouTube channel; Glen & Friends Cooking.

All you’ll need to do is follow the simple recipe and if you get stuck, there’s the video to help.

What you’ll need ( Ingredients):

  • 500 mL (2 cups) all purpose flour
  • 60 mL (¼ cup) sugar
  • 20 mL (4 tsp) baking powder
  • 2 mL (½ tsp) salt
  • 325 mL (1 1/3 cup) milk
  • 125 mL (½ cup) peanut butter

Then when you are ready to begin you need to Preheat your oven to 160ºC (325ºF). Mix together all of the dry ingredients; starting with the flour, then the salt and sugar, and finally the baking powder. Combine those and then mix in the milk. Once those are combined you can mix in the peanut butter. Once you have all of that just scrape it into a greased loaf tin and bake for 1 hour. It’s honestly that simple. BUT! If you get stuck at any point there is the video to help you through:
