Forbes has released their list of the worlds highest paid actors, and it’s not much of a surprise who sits atop that list; though the impact Netflix had on it is notable; it looks like Netflix deals account for $140.5 million out of the total $545.5 million from the top 10. That’s over a quarter of the total value that they paid out to just 6 of the actors!
The list includes more than just what they earn from their films, but Netflix deals, and their off acting income is also a contributing factor. Obvious names like Vin Diesel, Will Smith, and Ryan Reynolds can be found on the list. No surprise however that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson sits atop the hill.
Here’s the list from #1 to #10.
1. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson – $87.5 m
2. Ryan Reynolds – $71.5 m
3. Mark Wahlberg – $58 m
4. Ben Affleck – $55 m
5. Vin Diesel – $54 m
6. Akshay Kumar – $48.5 m
7. Lin-Manuel Miranda – $45.5 m
8. Will Smith – $44.5 m
9. Adam Sandler – $31 m
10. Jackie Chan – $30 m
Netflix is a huge part of the reason that Adam Sandler is on the list, and newcomer Lin-Manuel Miranda largely has a deal with Netflix rival Disney+ to thank for his first appearance on the list. The only Bollywood star Akshay Kumar is making a show for Amazon Prime, though most of his income comes from endorsements.
If you want to know more about how Forbes comes up with the list, and where each actor got their money you will have to check the original list. But don’t jump to conclusions about no women on this list, they have their own which comes out next month.
