Pastor Bill Losasso, who founded the Florida Dream Center to help people in hopeless situations, wanted to celebrate his 73rd birthday as he did his 17th and he didn’t keep it secret.
That is how he ended up driving around handing out sweet treats in the hot summer sun after his daughter went out and rented an Ice Cream truck for the day.
He ended up handing out hundreds of treats to kids and grown ups alike for his birthday. Apparently this was a dream job he had had when he was a youngster and he wanted to do it again; “I got to relive my dream,” Losasso said. “It was really a cool birthday present and I got to share it with all my friends here.” Perhaps we should call him the Punmaster Pastor.
The area he chose to visit with the truck apparently hadn’t had one come by in more than a year and Pastor Bill was able to lift the spirits of so many. Unsurprising from a man who founded the Florida Dream Center, which helps the homeless and combats human trafficking among other ministries, gives away 25,000 pounds of food every weekend, adding up to 1.5 million pounds every year.
It is a beautiful, giving, birthday wish and it’s your Good News Story of the Day; which you can find in full and even watch a video about, here.
Melvin Hillman, who drives the “Krazy Ice Cream” truck year-round, remarked in amazement. “It’s beautiful, it’s great, it’s a blessing,” Hillman said3. “I thank God I’m here to be a part of it. We have more people like him in the world it will definitely be a better world.”
