Five Oaks, an affiliate of The United Church of Canada, functioning ordinarily as an Education and Retreat Centre, in Paris; is playing host to Migrant workers who need to quarantine for 14 days after arriving in Canada before they can go to jobs at local farms.
This announcement made for a first for the centre, which has been host to many gatherings over the years, but now will be playing an important role in the food security of all those supplied by the farms who rely on these migrant workers to pull the food in from the fields.
It’s an important role to fill and one the site is well suited to with it’s 116 acres of land with beautiful forests, trails, main hall, and multiple houses, which will adequately provide for the workers with beautiful surroundings to top it off.
Anyone who wishes to visit or contact Five Oaks is asked to call first at 519-442-3212. This includes any farmers wishing to follow up on the services they are offering as migrant worker hosts.
