It’s currently still March Break, so taking the week off from teaching the kids is expected for now. But they won’t be going back to school once Monday comes. So what happens then?
The announcement of the additional weeks came with some thought that further information would be coming, and that the closure would only be until April 5th.
But there have been concerns it may continue, and many are wondering how their kid’s education will be impacted, how will they learn? While we wait for an official response – it’s important to remember that kids can learn at home too.
While there are some parents who might be creative enough to put together their own lesson plans along with all the materials to teach them, others might need assistance. Fortunately there is a plethora of Online resources to choose from! From ABCs to ACTs on Facebook put together a list:
But in this time there are even more resources becoming available; if you take a bit of time or are lucky enough to stumble upon them.
Take the Cincinnati Zoo for example! They’re bringing their zoo to you online! Learn about animals in their daily videos and even participate in some activities!
If you’re looking for things that might help the older kids you could always check out sites like Crash Course for resources on history, art, literature and more. Also there are plenty of resources on Youtube, such as The Bible Project and Because Science.
These are just a few of the tools you can find, tweak to your own needs, and use. If you have your own favourites, feel free to add them in a comment on our Facebook post!
