The City of Hamilton will close down part of the Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway, the Linc, over the weekend. The eastbound lanes will be closed tonight as crews complete the second weekend of regular maintenance on the major thoroughfare.
The closure will begin at 9:30 p.m. Tonight and last until Sunday night at 11 p.m., between the Upper Red Hill Valley Parkway/Mud Street to Mohawk Road. The work is weather permitting and any updates can be expected to be announced on the City’s Website.
The city does add that at the west end, access between Highway 403 and the Mohawk Road exit will be maintained during the closure, but advise that they expect traffic to increase and that drivers should allow extra time for travel or plan an alternate route.
In a release, the city says the work will involve repairs to the asphalt, pavement resurfacing, clearing of catch basins, the addition of reflectors and continuing signage repair. This is the remaining portion of work on the Linc, following earlier work on the westbound lanes late last month.
