Daylight Saving Time starts again this weekend, as most of Canada springs forward for 2019. The time change happens this Sunday, March 10th, at 2 a.m., when clocks move forward by one hour. So before you go to sleep on Saturday or when you get up Sunday morning, make sure your clocks are changed. This is also a good time of the year to remember to change the batteries on any of your smoke or carbon monoxide detectors that are not integrated or still use batteries as it is recommended to do every six months.
Whether Daylight Saving Time is a good idea or not has been a subject of some debate with health experts and financial experts both agreeing there are certainly downsides with productivity the following Monday always being the lowest and the risk of certain health related issues, including heart attack, being highest following the Spring Forward.
But even with the debate it isn’t going anywhere before this weekend so it is encouraged that you try to ease into the time change as best as you can and plan your Sunday and Monday accordingly.
