With New Restrictions Toronto Zoo To Close Indefinitely

With new lockdown restrictions returning to Toronto this morning, one of the city’s biggest attractions has announced it will be closing until further notice. As of this morning, Monday, November 23rd, the Toronto Zoo, the Holiday Marketplace, and Terra Lumina, will be shut to the public.

The zoo remained open over the weekend but now that lockdown has returned they cannot have sufficient people wandering the grounds to remain open.

The Toronto Zoo made the announcement on Twitter.

No need to worry about the critters though, Zoo staff will continue to work through the closure to take care of the 5,000 animals on site. Full refunds will be issued to anyone who has bought tickets for the Toronto Zoo, the Holiday Marketplace, and Terra Lumina beyond this weekend. All memberships will be extended for the duration of the closure. And their Guest Relations team will contact ticket holders over the next few weeks to process refunds.

They will also continue to offer virtual free and paid educational programming during this time. As this situation evolves, they will continue offering information updates on Facebook, Twitter, and http://torontozoo.com.
