“Upcycled” Free Community Dinner In Guelph On Sunday

It’s Food Waste Friday of the Waste Reduction Week in Canada and it seems like a good time to point out an event coming to Guelph that is aimed at helping families reduce their food waste by showing them what can be done with food that some might think is only fit to toss!

It’s being called “Upcycled” because “Garbage Dinner” didn’t have the same appeal. It is set to take place on Sunday October 27th from 5 until 7 pm at the  Church of the Apostles and it is being presented by their Living Better on Less program.

The City of Guelph recently was the subject of a study which showed how bad food waste in the area is and this opportunity for families in the community to enjoy a free meal while also being taught how to make better use of their food before it truly goes to waste is an excellent way to show leadership. If you would like to know more about the program running the event you can find that at the church website.
