Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement again for Today; though this time it isn’t for ice or extreme cold. This morning you will find it is some fairly strong wind gusts that could cause some issues. If you are travelling this morning you will find that upgrades to a Wind Warning down to Norfolk, Simcoe, Haldimand, and the Niagara region and also to the north if you go as far as the Bruce peninsula.

The Special Weather Statement in effect for the Brant County/Brantford region reads as follows;

Strong and gusty winds today.

Strong southwest winds gusting to 80 km/h will slowly start to diminish this afternoon.

These winds are strong enough to cause minor tree damage and a few local power outages.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ONstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm.

Watch for tree branches weakened by the recent cold and ice storm and be ware of power outages, any traffic lights out should be treated as a four-way stop, and should you come across a downed power line please avoid it and contact your local power utility.
