Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement about the potential for heavy rain Today, as a weather system could bring up to 40 millimetres of rain to the area. Though as of this morning the forecast is calling for less than 20 millimetres.
The Statement reads:
“Heavy rain possible today.
An area of rain moving northward from Ohio this morning will cross lake Erie and western sections of Lake Ontario through the middle of the day. There is the potential for rainfall amounts of 20 to 40 millimetres to fall across some areas by this evening. This rain is associated with the remnants of tropical depression Bertha and is weakening as it moves northward. There is still uncertainty about which area will receive the highest amount of rain however rainfall warnings may be issued this morning. This statement will be updated through today.”
This post will be updated should this change to a watch or warning; though if heavy rain does occur and flooding is an issue where you are please take appropriate precautions.
