The effects of Climate Change have already begun to be noticed, quick freezes and rapid thaws have already caused one major flooding incident in the City in recent memory. The City of Brantford is now trying to prepare residents for potential future incidents with their Climate Action Plan for February. Simply put: February is “Preparing Your Home for Climate Change Month.”
Which is why this month you will find helpful information on the cities website detailing how to reduce emissions around the house, and prep for flooding; one of the most common local issues related to climate change.

On top of that they are also looking to hold a one hour workshop on Wednesday, February 26th from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at T.B. Costain/S.C. Johnson Community Centre where they will discuss a few energy savings tips to help lower emissions, flood prevention, how to better deal with heat and review potential risks from vector-borne disease such as Lyme disease.
