Open And Closed In Brantford, Thanksgiving Weekend 2019

It’s the Thanksgiving long weekend and with the holiday and all the time spent with family or friends or helping the less fortunate also comes closures of a number of facilities so their employees can also enjoy that time. With that in mind here is a brief list of some closures you can expect.

 

Government Facilities:

Expect City Hall, municipal offices, and facilities to be closed on Monday.

 

Financial:
Most banks will be closed on October 14th.

 

Transit:

Go will be running on a Sunday schedule on Monday.

Brantford Lyft will be operating on Thanksgiving on a holiday schedule.

 

Library:

Both locations of the Brantford Library will be closed on Monday, October 14.

 

Waste Collection:

There will be no changes to waste collection due to Thanksgiving Day (Monday, October 14). The Mohawk Street Landfill will also open between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. during the holiday.

 

Shopping:
The Lynden Park Mall will be closed on Thanksgiving Monday, October 14. Walmart will also be closed on Monday.

Most Grocery Stores like Sobeys, Zehrs, Farm Boy, and Metro will be closed; though some may be open.

 

Many stores and facilities will be closed or have adjusted hours on the holiday Monday, it is best to call ahead before heading out.
