Bad News About Blackflies.

After a cool and wet spring, most people are hoping summer temperatures will extend into the fall.

But blackflies are another story.

University of Guelph professor Peter Kevan says blackflies are typically a nuisance in early-to-mid summer, but because of the damp spring, it means they’ll likely be around well into August.

Kevan says in addition to their late maturation, he suspects blackfly populations may be bigger this year.
